The Iranian Painter and Sculptor living in the United States has held several exhibitions abroad. She has been painting her judgments about Creation since 2005 before moving to the U.S.A. Upon her arrival to Iran , Samira has fulfilled all her works and the mentioned exhibition at Mahe Mehr’s gallery is to present her new set of paintings.

The young painter who has held exhibitions in Italy and Los Angeles , U.S.A previously says “ In Iran Gallery management is an expertise occupation. The Gallery Manager of my exhibition bought all my paintings before the presentation . On the opening day so many people invited by the gallery visited my works.”

She continues “ My recent exhibition in Los Angeles was wonderful . Although the paintings ‘ prices abroad are about ten times more than here , the number of buyers are also relatively much more .”

Noe Parast believes that the Iranian paintings are not less precious than western ones and Iranian and western artists have progressed in modern painting simultaneously.” And there is no doubt that Iranian paintings can be well presented in the United States too. “
She has just started working in a Gallery in Los Angeles and hopes to be a good base for introduction of Iranian works to other countries.
In her paintings which are mostly 120x120 Cm she has mostly used elements of horses and horseback riding equipments.

Cinematic Photographs of Vargha Ameri

Vargha Amery was born in 1965. He studied Painting and Photography at Cavendish University U.K. and in 1984 started the photography professionally. In 2004 he was recognized as one of the best 10 photographers by Samsung Co. in Iran. For the first time in the history of Iranian cinema, he took pictures of a complete movie (directed by Kazem Rastgoftar) by a digital camera. Vargha cooperated with Iranian local publications from 1988 to 1995 and in 1998 he started to practice theatrical photography with Dr. Ali Rafiei and Hadi Marzban. Since 1999 he has been involved in both portrayal and cinematic photography. The above mentioned exhibition will be opened on saturday August 18th and will continue until September 13th. New Specialized English courses in Visual Arts

Beginning of the photography courses instructed by three outstanding professors

The new Documentary Photography course instructed by Professor Jalali includes: Theoretical discussions , Practical working, providing three pamphlets regarding evolution of photography – regarding Photography and Documentary Photography Ideologies in about 150 pages. In case students find the materials too difficult , they will be simplified. Four documentary films will be also shown during the course.

The observer of a colorful dance

The mentioned session was supposed to start from 5:00pm to 7:00 pm but due to the participants’ strong interests it continued up to 8:00 pm . Babak Etminani at this session evaluated and analyzed the artworks of the three mentioned artists who were all his own students. Afterwards he explained his own point of views about art and painting.

He said:
“I seek the essence, the Hidden Obvious, in its might and majestic beauty. I sense the mysterious oneness of nature, the greatest source of my inspiration. I paint to beg the Inseparable to unveil a secret upon my canvas. If my prayer is granted, a universe made of paint comes to life before my eyes, to which I bear witness. Thus I paint to harmonize my inner self with an ever-expanding force, the Grand Gesture, which unifies everything into one being; like a whirling Sufi."

BBC reports the presence of Iran at Art Köln

Elaheh Gallery which is directed by Elaheh Javahery graduated in painting is going to participate for the third time at Art Köln exhibition . Elaheh Gallery is the only participant from Iran and presents the artworks of six Iranian painters who four of them live in Iran, one lives in Germany and the last one in the US.

Shahriar Tavakoli, Khosro Hassan Zadeh, Ramin Haeri Zadeh and Rokni Haeri Zadeh are the painters who live in Iran and Elaheh Gallery presents their artworks to the entire world. Nikzad Nojoomi lives in the US and Ali Nasir in Germany . Ali Nasir is the only painter at this exhibition who presents his works personally.

Looking at the artworks presented by Elaheh Gallery you can clearly see the indications of living environmental conditions of the painters in their works. In almost all presented paintings of Nikzad Nojoomi there is a feeling of satirical duality as if he is trying to convey the duality that exists in the lives of the immigrants. Other presented paintings from Iran are on base of history and tradition.

Elaheh Javahery believes although Art Köln is a great trade market for artistic works but her presence for offering Iranian works has more important purposes than just the monetary ones. The artistic activities of Iranian painters in recent years have been so expanded that can guarantee Iranian artworks to have a much higher status in International art exhibitions and trades for the coming years.

She says during all previous years she participated in this exhibition and the other ones in Belgium without any financial support. The only financial support that she received this time was through Damoon Far Co. an importing company of painting utensils.

The director of Elaheh Gallery says the financial support of artists by people in Iran has not been a trendy performance yet and those who have financial capabilities in this regard should be encouraged to do so. Considering the reactions of non Iranian visitors of this exhibition she says that :” For those people the quality of the artwork itself was of prime importance rather than the nationality of its creator.” She also said Iranian artworks presented in the exhibition were very much comparable with the other paintings.

Fifty photographs from ten years of Iranian Cinema

Ahmad Ahmadi has started his activities as a short films’ cameraman in Cinema since 1987 and since 1995 has became one of the outstanding photographers of cinema. Among his artistic records you can observe him as a cameraman for 51 cinema movies as well as 53 short and long films .

The exhibition continues up to May 10th at Mahe Mehr’s Café Gallery.
